Leave Your Sleep is a collection of classic children's poetry set to music by Natalie Merchant and illustrated by Barbara McClintock. This teacher's guide for the book is divided into two parts, one for grades K-3 and one for grades 4-6. Both levels have pre-reading activities and thematic connections, curriculum connections, and multidisciplinary connections linked to the Common Core State Standards. The guide also includes differentiated discussion questions about poets including Mother Goose, Robert Louis Stevenson, Ogden Nash, Jack Prelutsky, E. E. Cummings, Robert Graves, and several others.
