technology. Ms. Buchler conducts workshops for K-12 school administrators
and teachers on the integration of technology in education. She helped

at Argonne National Labs, consults with the Illinois State Board of Education
and is on the adjunct faculty at Benedictine University where she teaches

Beth Buchler learned to use technology to engage her students. She helped
them use the computer to create books, connect with other classrooms and
learn about communities around the world. For one project, her students
used technology to explore Ice Age animals in Illinois. Using the Internet,
her students took virtual field trips to the state museum and to a distant
zoo to gather information and talk with experts via two-way video. This
classroom project is cited in the Essential
Condition in the National Educational Technology Standards.
