Children with ADD/ADHD present a particular challenge in the classroom, as well as at home. Teachers and parents must both be involved in helping them realize their potential, so they will learn to function happily both in school and out. We have extensive resources for teachers and parents seeking information and practical ways of addressing this complex disorder.
November is Native American Heritage Month. Our Native Americans theme page provides many lessons and activities to help students learn about the fascinating life and culture of these diverse indigenous peoples. And with Thanksgiving just around the corner, it's an ideal time to explore early American history and the ways in which Native Americans helped the first settlers here.
November 18-24 is Children's Book Week. Take a look at our extensive list of books for children that deal with disabilities. The books are sorted by reading level and the descriptions include the featured disability. Reading these books will foster understanding and acceptance in all of your students.
