Chances are you have already been involved in developing an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for a student, and have experienced firsthand how challenging and time-consuming the process can be. In this issue you will find great resources on the IEP process for teachers, parents, and administrators, all of whom must work together to formulate the best possible learning environment for a child with disabilities.
On Wednesday December 4, a total eclipse of the sun will be visible in the southern hemisphere. This would be a great time to take a look at our Space theme and direct your students' attention to the skies. We have science, math, and art lessons on the theme of space, references filled with interesting facts, and loads of printables.
In the northern hemisphere, winter officially begins in December. Even if you don't have winter weather in your neck of the woods, your students will enjoy learning about it through science activities, art projects, and winter-related books and quizzes. Our Winter theme page also has lessons about the December holidays that are celebrated worldwide.
We are sorry to tell you that this will be the last issue of Special Needs Monthly. Due to a reduction in TeacherVision® staff, we have had to pare down our newsletter offerings. Starting next month, those of you who don't already subscribe to Great Stuff for Teachers will begin receiving it in your mailbox. We hope you will enjoy this semi-monthly newsletter, which is loaded with timely activities and resources. If you decide to unsubscribe, please visit our Newsletter Center.
All of TeacherVision's great special needs content will still be available in the newsletters archive at /tv/lounge/newsletter/exceptional/archive.html - you may want to bookmark this now. And as always, you may contact us for help if you are unable to find what you are looking for.
