More About the Fulbright Program
- The Fulbright Program was established in 1946 under legislation introduced
by former Senator J. William Fulbright of Arkansas. It is administered
by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States
Department of State.
- The Fulbright Teacher and Administrator Exchange Program is just one
of the Fulbright Program offerings. Every year, it involves exchanges
of more than 230 administrators and teachers from K-12 schools, community
colleges, and four-year institutions. It operates in about 30 countries
worldwide.
- The goals of the Program include deepening professional and academic
knowledge, developing professional and personal ties, and broadening
one's perspective by living in another culture for an extended period
of time.
