The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson: Project Ideas
- Create a puppet show depicting an event in the story. This means you'll have to make the puppets
backdrop, and scenery in addition to writing and performing the skit.
- Write a new adventure for the Herdman kids.
- Design a poster for the Christmas pageant starring the Herdman kids.
- Write a bio-poem about Imogene Herdman.
- Bake an applesauce cake to share with your class, but don't burn it as the ladies on the pot-luck did.
- Make an "Attack Cat" sign that the Herdmans could put in their weed-covered front yard. Be sure draw the Herdmans' cat on the sign.
- What if the Herdmans decided to work together to design their own Christmas card? What do you it would look like? Make this card.
- The teacher made a new rule for Show-and-Tell after the Herdmans' cat paid a visit. Make a poster
giving at least five rules for Show-and-Tell.
