January 2009, Vol. 2

Student reading in library Dear Teacher,

February is Black History Month. Celebrate it by learning about the many groundbreaking achievements of African-Americans throughout history, starting with our new President, Barack Obama, and moving on to Harriet Tubman and Jackie Robinson. We also have resources to explore the civil rights movement.

Groundhog Day is February 2. Wish for an early spring with our activities and lessons!

Help students show their affection for family and friends this Valentine's Day (Feb. 14). We have cards that are fun to create, and activities to help them enjoy the holiday.

Celebrate Presidents' Day this February 16 by studying Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and many other presidents of the past.

Also in this issue, learn how to discuss social and emotional issues with your students.

Best Wishes,
The Editors of TeacherVision.com
