Dear Teacher,
Passover, the Jewish festival of freedom, begins on April 20. If your students aren't familiar with Jewish holidays and customs, this is a perfect opportunity to teach them history and cultural awareness. Crafts, recipes, and literature discussions are all fun ways to celebrate.
Going "green" is the hot topic these days. Take advantage of the media's focus on the environment on Earth Day (April 22) by teaching your students how they can help make the world a cleaner, healthier place.
Many high-school students fear Shakespeare because they don't understand the language of his plays and poems. Use our activities and literature guides to help your class understand the language, plot, and references in Shakespeare's dramas. They'll be fans of the Bard in no time!
April is Alcohol and Drug Awareness Month. Browse our resources on alcohol, cigarettes, and other drugs to help your students understand the dangers they face.
Finally, observe Autism Awareness Month (April) by reviewing our resources on special needs. Whether your special-needs students suffer from autism or other learning disabilities, we have materials to help you include them in your regular classroom instruction.
Best Wishes, The Editors of TeacherVision.com
