You are probably immersed in an exciting new school year. Check out our Back to School resources to find lessons, forms, parent collaboration ideas, icebreakers, and more, and get your year off to a terrific start. There are many things to celebrate in October, so you should have plenty of activities and themes to keep you busy for the entire month. First, World Habitat Day is October 1. Show your students the many different environments in which animals live – from wetlands to the rain forest. Columbus Day is October 8. Teach your class about the voyages and legacy of America's most famous explorer – Christopher Columbus. Dinosaur Month and Youth Against Tobacco Month also fall in October. Integrate the study of dinosaurs – a subject most students enjoy learning about – across the curriculum, from science to art. Additionally, help your students understand the risks involved with smoking, using our extensive tobacco resources. Finally, familiarize yourself with many different special needs resources for Learning Disabilities Month. Whatever your students' learning capabilities, we have tips to help you establish inclusion in your classroom. Best Wishes,
