March 2008, Volume 2

Student writing poetry Dear Teacher,

April is National Poetry Month. Show your students that poetry is nothing to fear, with our activities on haikus, rhyming, and metaphors.

Mathematics Education Month is also celebrated in April. Help your students brush up on their math skills by studying everything from addition & subtraction to probability & statistics. Math practice can be integrated into other subjects, as well.

Focus on your students' future by teaching them about the many jobs and careers available to them—they can be a teacher, firefighter, writer, or anything in between! Study another aspect of social studies this month, with lessons on explorers. From Lewis & Clark to Christopher Columbus to Matthew Henson, we have the biographies you need to study the groundbreaking explorers of the past.

Finally, if you need help with your lesson planning (and who doesn't?), we have forms and resources to make your job easier.

Best Wishes,
The Editors of TeacherVision.com
