Two very different and very important holidays are celebrated in November: Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and Thanksgiving (Nov. 26).
Veterans Day is the ideal time to discuss war and its repercussions with students. Use the holiday to introduce a discussion about the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Explore the rich historical and cultural aspects of Thanksgiving with art projects, writing prompts, math worksheets, and history lessons.
