October 2009, Vol. 2

Thanksgiving dinner table Dear Teachers,

Two very different and very important holidays are celebrated in November: Veterans Day (Nov. 11) and Thanksgiving (Nov. 26).

Veterans Day is the ideal time to discuss war and its repercussions with students. Use the holiday to introduce a discussion about the current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Explore the rich historical and cultural aspects of Thanksgiving with art projects, writing prompts, math worksheets, and history lessons.

Finally, are you looking for ways to better engage your students now that they are comfortable with your classroom routines? Our teaching method resources will help you strengthen your instruction; review the concepts of Bloom's Taxonomy, cooperative learning, learner-centered teaching, and more!

Best Wishes,
The Editors of TeacherVision.com
