September 2009, Vol. 1

Boy playing in leaves Dear Teachers,

Hispanic-Heritage Month is observed from September 15–October 15 and recognizes the independence of seven Latin American countries. Focus on the diversity in your classroom and across the country by celebrating the richness of the Hispanic culture.

Get ready for cooler weather and colorful leaves: it's almost fall! September 23 marks the beginning of autumn, and it's the perfect time to take your class outside to discuss photosynthesis and enjoy the fall colors.

Inspire your students by incorporating drama into your classroom. Reciting plays not only improves students' reading skills, but also their public speaking skills!

Bugs are fascinating creatures. Explore all sorts of creepy crawlers with a variety of cross-curricular activities on insects!

Graphic organizers are invaluable classroom tools. Incorporate Venn diagrams, KWL charts, webs, and more into every subject you teach.

Best Wishes,
The Editors of TeacherVision.com
