Dear Teacher,
Can you believe that the holiday season is just around the corner? Thanksgiving falls on November 22 this year, so you can start showing your students the meaning of the holiday right away. Teach them the history of Thanksgiving, how it's been celebrated over the years, and how they can show their thanks today.
November is the perfect month for studying colonial times. From the pilgrims, to American Indians, to the original 13 colonies, we have the resources to help you cover this historical period.
Whether you teach high-school seniors or elementary students, you can present valuable lessons about jobs and careers. Doing so will introduce your students to a whole new world of experiences. Also in this issue, we focus on your assessment techniques and provide you with many journaling activities.
Finally, the Great American Smokeout is celebrated in November. Help your students understand the hazards of smoking.
Best Wishes, The Editors of TeacherVision.com
