Sharing the Hispanic-American Heritage Experience
Hispanics are the largest group of English Language Learners in U.S. schools. There is a great need for children's and young adult Hispanic American literature that reflects the experiences and cultures of this large segment of the American ethnic mosaic. Hispanic-American literature can easily be integrated into all levels of school curricula, enriching a uniquely American mosaic. Books can open doors to cross-cultural understanding in our increasingly diverse society.
