Fried Egg Costume

costumes

Time: 1 hour
Effort: Some sewing required
Materials:

  • White flat sheet (twin size should be large enough)
  • Yellow felt
  • Cotton balls or toilet paper
  • Yarn or ribbon
  • Spatula
  • White sweat suit
  • Needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Elastic (optional)
  • Instructions: Fold the sheet in half and cut it into a circle shape. You should have two circles – one for the front and one for the back.

Cut out two small circles from the yellow felt, about 1/4 the size of the white circles.

Sew the white sheet circles together, leaving holes for your child's head, arms, and legs. Sew the yellow felt circle to either side of the white sheet circle, leaving enough room to stuff the cotton balls inside. (This is the egg yolk.) After you've stuffed both sides of the yolk, close the holes.

Have your child wear the white sweat suit underneath her egg costume. Hang the spatula around her neck with ribbon or yarn.

Other details: Sew elastic in the head, arm, and leg holes to make the costume fit better (this is optional).
