Teaching Values in School

Should schools teach students basic values like honesty, compassion, and courtesy?

Yes. Teachers have a major influence on the lives of children.
To a degree. Traditional classroom rules -- like no cheating, and being nice to others -- generally cover these areas. Anything in-depth should be left to parents.
No. The teaching of values is the parents' responsiblity.
No. I don't feel comfortable teaching students about morals; I would not want to feel responsible for any student's immoral actions.
