October 2007, Volume 1

Boy holding American flag Dear Teacher,

Veterans Day occurs on November 11. Incorporate the study of the military, wars, and their veterans with our resources. You'll find activities to honor heroes, projects on the Vietnam War and World War II, a flag bulletin board design, and many other activities that will help your students understand how important veterans are to our country.

November 11-17 is Geography Awareness Week. We have printable maps of the United States and the world, crossword puzzles on each of the states, and activities to quiz your students on their knowledge of place names.

Music is a powerful motivator and can be utilized in any subject area to increase your students' learning potential. Help them to understand the relationship between music and science, teach them to build their own instruments, and find more music-related activities.

Also in this issue: resources to help your students understand the U.S. election process.

Finally, help your students improve their study skills with our tips and tricks on everything from note-taking to test-taking.

Best Wishes,
The Editors of TeacherVision.com
