June 2013 – New Content on TeacherVision®
*Updated June 13, 2013
From Flag Day to the Fourth of July, opportunities abound to bring patriotic crafts and songs into your lessons. Take some time to teach the history behind these holidays. Share the story of America through videos and activities. The printables and lessons paired with each video are all about the Declaration of Independence and events that led to its signing. Encourage kids to study the wording of this important document and learn more about the ideas of Thomas Jefferson.
The summer also provides ample reading opportunities. Check out our newest literature guides to find the perfect book for your beach bag or summer reading list. Fantasy fiction lovers will dive right into Quintana of Charyn, the much anticipated third book in the Lucene Chronicles. Elementary children will enjoy the fun antics of Bink & Gollie while older students will be hooked on the riveting emotional journey of a young boy in Small as an Elephant. Each guide is aligned with Common Core State Standards to help you utilize the book in your classroom.
Lastly, keep kids learning all summer long with fun activities from our Educators' Calendar.
Best wishes,
The Editors of TeacherVision®
