Dear Teacher,
Take advantage of your students' desire to use technology in the classroom, while ensuring that the subject matter is educational. We have Internet-based activities, PowerPoint projects, lessons using Excel, downloadable games, and instructions for using the Internet in a responsible manner.
Observe Holocaust Remembrance Day (May 2), by providing your students with a background on World War II. Introduce them to supporting topics, such as the Nuremburg Law and cultural intolerance. You can also find many books and novels that cover these difficult issues.
Mother's Day is May 11. Encourage your students to show their appreciation to their moms – and to other important women in their lives – with cards, art projects, and coupon books.
May is Asian-American and Asian-Pacific-American History Month. Celebrate by studying Asian history and culture, from India to China to Korea.
Also in this issue: the Art of Teaching.
Best Wishes, The Editors of TeacherVision.com
