Press Release: 2010 Printable Monthly Calendar & Newsletter With Lesson Plans for K-12 Teachers Featured on TeacherVision.com

Interactive Educators' Calendar Links Important Holidays and Events to Lesson Plans, Articles & Learning Activities

Boston, MA – Jan. 12, 2010 – The beginning of the new year marks the debut of the 2010 Educators' Calendar on TeacherVision.com. Available in a variety of print and electronic formats, the calendar features important holidays and events that teachers can incorporate into their daily lesson plans. Each day, the 2010 monthly calendar for teachers features a noteworthy event to spark research, interest and creativity for students. These events are linked to relevant teaching tools such as in-depth articles, printables, subject lesson plans, or other activities.

"Every year, the Educators' Calendar is the most popular resource on TeacherVision® because it gives teachers a foundation for finding resources that are both timely and educational, " said Jess M. Brallier, publisher, TeacherVision®. "This year's calendar includes more interesting events than ever before to help teachers plan and organize their lessons and engage students in learning."

TeacherVision® offers the 2010 calendar in a variety of formats to meet the unique needs of today's teachers. On the site, they will find printable and online versions or they can subscribe to receive updates via an RSS feed. The Educators' Calendar widget is also available to be added to teachers' personal blogs, home pages, or social networking pages on sites such as facebook or MySpace.

Calendar highlights help teachers of all grades and subjects bring learning to life for their students. For example, on Jan. 20, students in grades 3–5, can celebrate the World's First Organized Basketball game with a Basketball Multiplication Lesson Plan that will help build their math and basketball shooting skills at the same time. Feb. 18 marks the anniversary of the publication of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn," and teachers can use a variety of enrichment activities linked to the calendar on TeacherVision® to help their students learn more about this American classic and the era in which it was published.

As the school year goes on, teachers and students can explore the history of their state on the date it was admitted to the union -- all 50 are featured on the site -- with supporting lesson plans. Or they can delve into the world of art history with lesson plans for Vincent Van Gogh's birthday on March 30 and the Aug. 21 anniversary of the 1911 theft of the Mona Lisa, or children's literature with lesson plans linked to Beatrix Potter's birthday on July 28 or J.K. Rowling's birthday on July 31.

2010 Educators' Calendars on the TeacherVision® Australia, TeacherVision® Canada and TeacherVision® UK sites are customized to highlight events and holidays of importance to teachers and students in those countries.

The 2010 monthly calendar for teachers is one example of the many quality resources and classroom tools that are added to TeacherVision® on a regular basis. To receive updates on the site, special offers, and new resources, teachers can sign up for free 2010 teacher newsletters: "Great Stuff for Teachers" and "Special Offers for Teachers," at http://www.teachervision.fen.com/tv/lounge/newsletter/newsletter-signup.html.
