Colonial Children Worksheet

Name________________________________ Date______________

This activity will help you think about what life was like in colonial Pennsylvania.

Life in Colonial Times
1. Go to the website Colonial Kids (http://library.thinkquest.org/J002611F/?tqskip1=1). Read the introduction, and then explore the links on the lower half of the screen to learn about life in colonial Pennsylvania. Make a chart with six columns on the back of this page or on another sheet of paper – include each of these headings: Homes, School, Clothes, Transportation, Chores, and Careers. As you read, make notes about colonial life under each of these headings.

Life in Modern Times
2. Using the same chart, circle anything in your notes that is true of kids' lives today in the 21st century.

3. Which parts of colonial life do you wish were true of your life today?
