apprentice = one who is legally bound to serve another in order to learn a trade
card = to comb or cleanse fibers such as wool
shear = to cut the hair, fleece, or wool from an animal
spit = a pointed rod on which meat is skewered and roasted before a fire
tavern = an inn that also serves food and drink
weave = to make a fabric by interlacing threads or yarn, especially on a loom
